Look what showed up on my doorstep literally 30 min ago - my first board!

It's a Bombardier B1 in Bamboo/ply with a wee bit of camber and cave - came with 83a Durians, Paris 180s, and Biltin bearings. It's raining in Dunedin today, but next fine day I'll be taking it out with my mate to learn the ropes. Huge thanks to Billy for being so friendly, helpful, and just generally awesome to deal with. Photo is Billy's, my camera skills are poor to say the least.

Nice!
Sick! rip that shit up man you've got the board to do it on!

Yeah man, I live on a gentle hill too, so I can have a bomb on my way to uni. Hoping tomorrow's good, so I can go for a cruise and a carve after hockey, which is also right by a nice wee hill for n00bs.
wow

I'm keen, but depends on the weather on Sunday - already got plans tomorrow. I'm a rank newbie though, still getting the hang of this board and getting engrams back from when I was a nipper on a skateboard - steering, pushing, and a little carving is about all I can do at the moment. Still trying to set up the trucks a way that I like too - seemed very loose to me and my mate, not as stiff as either of us like, so I didn't feel 100% safe today when I tried it out at speed.
On the topic of safety, note to self - don't go on a hill for the very first time you get on a board ever - my board almost got run over when I bailed once on my way to the school we were messing around at, and I bailed a second time, resulting in my board hitting a parked car. Oops...
looks nice man! my custom b2

A very nice board for your first
As I am way way older that most of you my first board looked a lot different, it was black plastic about as wide as my palm, with a kick tail and no griptape as the plastic top had ridges in it.
The board from Billy looks great. What a fantastic first board. You are going to love it.
Go Skate!

Sick!
I've made a board like that, runs on paris 180's and O tang stimulus. Your one looks so fresh and crisp. Im mega jealous
Thanks guys, really enjoying
Thanks guys, really enjoying this board a. Took a couple of days to get the trucks how I liked them, but now it's super-sweet for cruising on, especially since I've got a nice gentle downhill slope the whole way to uni - I can cost the whole 10min trip with less than a dozen pushes.
I've somehow learnt pumping before carving (working on carving now so I can do some hills without blasting into cross-traffic), and working on stopping safely - can footbrake but pretty wobbly on it at the moment. Only one ding on it so far, and no falls, I've managed to bail on my feet and run it out every time so far.
Cheers to all for the compliments, will hopefully see some of you Dunedin lot in the near future once I've got carving and stopping down better.
lol sweet man! sounds like
lol sweet man! sounds like mad good experiences on the board! get your carve on and keep that stoke wayyyyy up in the air :D
P.s- I guarentee in the next day you'll have comments about learning to slide......
p.s.s- seriously, youre board looks amazing haha
bombardiers!!
dont be too worried if it gets dings! iv got a b2 and the things a friggn tank!
soo great!
thats not a promise haha but from experience dont be too worried :P
Yeah, this thing's so solid
Yeah, this thing's so solid I'd be seriously surprised if it couldn't handle a few dings. Was just annoying when I got it - was skating down a hill outside my mate's place, something funny happened and the board slid back under me, making me bail. I ran out the bail, turned one way to grab my board as it came past, while it went past me on the other side, gaining speed, straight into a low concrete wall - voila, instant ding. Stupid accident, just one of those things.
