Around the world longboarder Rob Thomson arrives in Auckland on Air New Zealand flight NZ88 early in the morning, flying in from China, where he will have completed skating 12,000km across Europe, the US, and China, doubling the current official Guinness World Record for the Longest Journey by Skateboard.

If you're in the area, have the inclination, and up at that ungodly hour, then come and meet him at the airport.

Rob will be in Auckland (staying at a mate's place in Orakei) for seven days preparing for the fourth and final leg of his journey (skating from Auckland home to Christchurch), so even if you can't make it to the airport, get a hold of him and catch up during the week he's in the area.

Message from Rob:

Contact me at rob(dot)thomson(at)14degrees(dot)org to catch up for a skate! It would be great to catch up with some fellow longboarders in Auckland while I'm there.

a gathering...

I think a gathering of the like minded is in order and perhaps an attack on local hills and car parks.
