Hey Eddie, I've recently got some slalom gear, will do my absolute best to make it, really unsure if i can even complete a slalom event but keen to do anything to promote the sport...

Do you think you'll have many entrants?

What sort of speeds would you expect for the GS? Min and max...

whats the most affordable way to get there? checked out air new zealand and they say i need to fly to wellington, christchurch and then wanaka. would it be easier to take a bus or is there a train? im quite keen to join just for the heck of it. never done slalom before.

To answer Q's: Richard - I'm not expecting many people at all. If we hit 15 I'll be amazed, but the purpose of this is just to get it going. Speed, I'll hold the speed to a reasonable level with the shape of the course, but if it gets too tight you slide out so its inbetween. Max 45-maybe 50kph but that is'nt really fast. If you gun this particular hill straight its good for say 80kph and safe.
Nacho: Fly to Queenstown from Akl or Rotorua (Qantas) and get a Jucy Rental as they are cheap. There are some great flight deals around at the moment. Don't bother making all those stopovers its not worth it you'll be so over it by the time you get here. QT airport to Wanaka is 50mins.

Sweet idea Eddie! Were do you whant to do the race? Is it on the run on Aubrey Road as you told me?
I have to manage with my job to get a day off. I'm not too sure if I'll be able to get it as we will have a buzy week end and we are running short of staff. But I will do my best to get that day, I can't miss that!!! Also, If you need some help to organize things, i will be happy to give you a hand...
