Why stop saturday when everyone is in town, Come out Sunday for a mass cruise thru Auckland with your mates and other like minded people of board diciplines. A meeting time and place will be determined between now and then, as well as a route of travel which will be suitable for all skill levels and take approx 1-2 hrs to finish. There are 2 stipulations that apply, formal attire(minimum dress shirt and tie) and a helmet. Afterward we'll head to some local spots for some sessioning and shit shooting you choose. If it rains we'll be cruising in the rain.

see you there

speedy

I'm In

Looking forward to the event, as Ultimate Boards will be there with a stand so would love to have a mass skate through Auckland on the Sunday.

If I use an old shirt can I Print "GSNZ President" on the back. Speedy you could do "GSNZ Secretary" Jestah with "GSNZ Treasurer" and the members could do "GSNZ Board Member" :)

Nick

Done!

Lovin' yer style nick or should i say Mr President...

“Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...'Holy Mother of God...What a Ride!!!''

What happened to dress shirts?!

If you "GSNZ" boys are going to be showing off with your shirts, then I'm going to have to say that I'm out. It seems like all you'll be doing is showing off your place in the hierarchy - that's even if you have a place. From the first post, this event seemed like it would bring the longboarding community together, we could all get along and skate as ONE group, instead there will be 2 groups: the GSNZ crew and everyone else who just decided to show up. And to be honest I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to look like just and extra.

Sorry if I killed the stoke. Just felt like telling you this.

wo wo wo....

Just hold up a second, the basis of the meet is still to gather as a community and skate as one big family. GSNZ is not a crew or posse, its an organisation that was started to support and raise money for the longboarding community so that NNO could be upgraded as a site and provide an official voice for things like government grants ,sponsorship and road closure for races. Furthur more its a democracy, Jestah, Nick and myself don't call the shots, the members of GSNZ do(become a member and have your say, as well as know that your $30 membership is helping the longboarding community). Jestah, Nick and I are only there to make sure that shots do get called, and get called fairly. And while I will have GSNZ Secretary and my name written on my shirt, its so people will know who I am for those who are coming from out of town. I still hope/expect everyone else to come in a dress shirt and tie too. There will only be one group, the Longboarders of NZ. Hope to see everyone there!!!

Ps: i might not even be able to sk8, but I'll be there anyway!!

“Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...'Holy Mother of God...What a Ride!!!''

Well said Speedy

The President, Secretary and Treasurer don't really have any power at all. They are appointed by the members to run things so the members don't have to do it. The three roles take the responsibility of driving the thing and putting forward or channelling proposals to help promote gravity sports in NZ. Which ones get actioned is totally up to the members.

There isn't really and Hierarchy, the positions names are just what we legally have to have to set up the Incorporated Soc. Don't take life so seriously. We are doing this for you guys and for future NZ longboarders.

Nick

over reaction much?

Alright, I may have over reacted but I think you get the jist of where I was coming from and I get where you're coming from. Over all I think we had a healthy argument where we all expressed our feelings and learned of other peoples opinions :P

HMMMM?

speedy, we who are from your area and the same for jestah for example.. know who you are. before anyone even starts out they will get to know who everyone is... this is only logical since some are strangers to each other. i agree with cawly that it is unnecessary for you or the other starters of "GSNZ" or nno to were labels of who you are.. we can simply inform anyone who is curious of who any1 else is because of us being friends with eachother.

Not allowed to wear Labels?

Come on dude, lighten up. The whole shirt thing was supposed to be taken in a Light harted why. And further more, when I skate I like to put as much creativity into my style to personalise my ride and make me stand out from the crowd. its also why I wear bright red shoes, why Jestah wears a shirt and tie etc etc. Labels and dressing different and skating style are all about creativity and personality. Please don't try and tell me, speedy or any other skater not to wear labels or to express themselves however they want to. I wouldn't tell you what to wear, how to wear it so please don't do it to others. Everyone should be allowed to express themselves however they want.

guys calm the hell down and

guys calm the hell down and take a light hearted joke its people getting together to skate not some gang affiliations just chill and let people have a good time we aren't going to not turn up because you might wear a yellow tee shirt and we don't like that, put things into perspective

Well I'm sorry you guys feel

Well I'm sorry you guys feel that way. I'll refraine from putting my title on there, but I'll still put my Name and GSNZ on my shirt with a Felt tip to sho my support for GSNZ and NNO. I would encourage everyone to put their name and NNO on there shirt. GSNZ is a not-for-profit organisation set up to help organise more events (like races and the up-coming Ultra sk8) that I happen to be a paying member of, so I'll wear it proudly on my shirt. But theres no reason you or anyone else out there can't become a member and have your say about where GSNZ funds go to. All of that aside this whole ride is about fun and spreading the stoke and bringing everyone together for a good time.

“Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...'Holy Mother of God...What a Ride!!!''

in the words of heath ledger

why so serious?

My thoughts exactly, this

My thoughts exactly, this event will be a really good time!! And will have my shirt and tie on hopefully everyone else will too!!

PS. its highly unlikely GSNZ will even have shirts made up by then.

by GSNZ shirts

we mean our shirt and tie with a ducktape GSNZ on the back (or if were rich paint). This is only going to be to promote GSNZ as a orginistatino and its not an exclusive club its a group that all longboarders can join up to and have their say.
WE want it to be fun and not a serious day so come on guys

ITS PENUT BUTTER JELLY TIME :P

To clearify

the issue was with the tittle being on the shirts, showing that there is a superiority, having your name or who your with (nno, gsnz etc..) is no problem, it was simply the fact of showing superiority.

There is no Superiority really

There is no Superiority really. Me and Speedy and Jestah are putting in extra effort to help people like you have more places to skate and more events to go to. But they wont happen if you don't vote for them. So who really has the Power. You do!

You probably skate way better than me, as do most NNO members. Yes I am jealous and yes I feel like a newbie most of the time but I don't go round accusing you of being superior to me. Come on man, see the GSNZ for what it really is. An organisation to help you out.

as i can see this side

with every group or club there is always a leader who does yes have some more power in some qways but is still limited by the restrions of the club and other members. If ther wasnt this leadership things turn to chaos.

I can see where your coming from though

Shirts

I don't know about the rest of you but I will get a Big Marker pen and draw the letters GSNZI on the back of my while business shirt for the ride. I am proud of the work we have all done getting this far.

Nick

ima be expressing my style

got my black shirt and sowing on a Metallica Master Of Puppets design on the back, with a big white METAL MILLTIA somewhere on it, its all about expressing yourself im bring my metal head culture to a formal event :P

i am fine with that nz is a free country and u are intitled to where what u want it will also show the puplic that people are actually serious about lonboarding

More the merrier

The more skaters the merrier, GSNZ is about gravity sports so I don't see why anyone on wheels can't come ride with us.

Nick
